The latest product release of Cognitec’s face recognition technology FaceVACS-DBScan ID includes the next version of the company’s matching algorithm, boosting the speed and performance of image comparisons against large databases.

Advanced face finding technology contributes to the superior matching performance compared to its predecessor, most evident for images with extreme pose angles up to profile view. Cognitec also extended its training database to build out a diverse image set and further minimize demographic differences, also known as bias.

FaceVACS-DBScan ID is used by governments worldwide to quickly compare new ID photos to existing images in huge databases, and prevent ID fraud or detect clerical errors.

In addition, the product includes Cognitec’s latest age estimation technology which currently tops the NIST leaderboard of average ranking for the accuracy of age estimation and verification technologies.
